August 24, 1955 – June 25, 2011

Mike Nix’s Passion in life was preaching the Gospel of Christ. His winsome, humble spirit enabled him to become a compassionate minister. His preaching career of 27 years began at the Neel Church of Christ, continued at the Midway congregation and ended at Beltline church of Christ. Mike was respected by all in the brotherhood and in the North Alabama communities. Mike was the model of meekness and integrity.

Mike’s life was blessed in marriage to his lifelong sweetheart Mary Lynn and his precious daughter Natalie. They shared great joy in serving the Lord’s Church. Mike was an adventurous person who loved walking nature trails, exercising, singing and traveling. Mike was always present when any member had joys or sorrows in their life. He was a tireless servant for Jesus.

Mike felt a burden for lost souls and kept mission work a priority traveling to Russia, Mexico, Haiti, Honduras, Iceland and Guyana, South America. He showed us daily how to live and love like Jesus while weekly preaching God’s truths.

Mike’s favorite quote, “Until we meet again, on the road less traveled.”
