Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. – Hebrews 12:1
A Cloud of Witness by Mary Lynn Nix
The lives of those heroes of faith in Hebrews Chapter 11 and those who have died in faith leave their example with us to cheer us on to victory. They witness to us of the faithfulness of our God, who led them and upheld them though all their conflicts. We see His mighty hand as He brought them to His side at last for an eternity. That same mighty hand is with you and me as we run close to Him. This happens when we hear his words and obey them.
Luke 11:28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
Revelation 1:3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.
“Blessed are we who keep our hearts fixed on Him”
